I was horrified to discover I have a bumper crop of Ctenocephalides Felis. This ought to cut down on houseguests.
I'm completely engaged in cleaning and treating the house according to pest management practices on the NMSU Agricultural Extension Service website (Guide G-317 Fleas and Their Control). The treatment requires rigorous cleaning of bedding and rugs and floors and daily use of a vacuum cleaner.
But vacuuming bothers the dogs. Boy Pup in particular dislikes having naps disrupted and walk time delayed for me to roar around the house pushing the expensive purple Dyson.
I left the vacuum out last night. He chewed through the electrical cord.
It wasn't plugged in. I'm conflicted about that.
I feel your pain, but damn! that's one smart dog.

Be sure to vacuum daily, and go out and buy a flea collar so you can cut off a chunk and vacuum it up, otherwise the fleas will escape and reinfect your house. There are few things more horrible than a flea infestation.
