Tiny Goal
Tumbleweed Tiny Houses have been featured in a couple places lately, like San Francisco Chronicle.
I'm also liking the Tiny Texas Houses and
imagine downsizing into one of them. They say Lowe's will be selling plans and kits for Katrina Cottages soon.
Living in a tiny abode on a large piece of land is appealing. Picking the house up and moving it around for a different view or to a different place - without packing - is too cool to contemplate.
Downsizing is the challenge. I have enough junk to stuff twenty "tinys" and a not-so-tiny annex would be needed just for trunks of old photos. I'd need a tiny house just for shoes.
So I am hereby setting up a goal for myself. Between now and my graduation (aka retirement but local government is so much more like high school than work) in three years (2 years, five months and 15 days but who's counting) I will attempt to downsize the total area of my stuff in order to live in a space like this.
My first step? To only bid in auctions for tiny things.
