Promised Casino

Albuquerque Journal reports that Gerald Peters (bless his heart!) is holding a job fair for his proposed casino. He hasn't gotten approval from the feds for the off-reservation scheme with Jemez Pueblo.
He's no dummy. How better to build support?
"It seems to be the first jobs fair in the history of New Mexico without any jobs," said Joe Monahan, spokesman for the Committee to Protect Doña Ana County, an opposition group with ties to the Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino, not far from Anthony.
Detail, details. Coco
That's called FORWARD THINKING! The guy's a visionary! He has visions of getting his way and, most of the time, he gets it (i.e., his recent bulldozing of the Santa Fe County Commission for approval of his new luxury subdivision). GP is no dummy. His methods include doing things like hiring deeply entrenched local government apparatchiks (like county commissioners, for example) as "consultants" to help build a base of support amongst la raza for his projects. Plus, Fat Bill owes him one and this casino is intended to be the payoff.

He uses lawyers as bulldozers and political hacks to dig foundations. Then Governor BFB sets the cornerstones.
I wonder if key decision maker Sec of Interior Gale Norton will do the ribbon cutting?
