The intimidating letter letter sent to Hispanic voters in Orange County California was the work of the ::Yummy:: Republican congressional candidate who is himself a Vietnamese immigrant - Tan Nguyen. He is refusing to step down. From the San Francisco Chronicle:
The Orange County Republican Party has called for Nguyen's resignation and he has received a chorus of criticism from Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on down.
On Friday, after California Department of Justice investigators searched Nguyen's campaign headquarters, a handful of local candidates condemned the letter and implied that Nguyen might not be the only Republican involved. Investigators also searched Nguyen's residence Friday and a home listed as belonging to one of his staffers.
The letter, written in Spanish, was mailed to Democratic voters in Orange County. It warned: "You are advised that if your residence in this country is illegal or you are an immigrant, voting in a federal election is a crime that could result in jail time."
Yummy? YUMMY?? Coco, he's a Republican!!
