Storm's Left Hook
Thursday, December 21, 2006
The Denver paper calls it a meteorological smackdown. Blizzard
warning in Colorado until noon and Governor Owens has declared a disaster emergency. About 5000 people were stranded at the Denver airport.
From the Denver Post:
As of late Wednesday, forecasters were predicting up to two feet of snow in Denver and even more in the southern parts of the city and foothills. It was quite possible the snowfall totals might exceed those registered on Dec. 24, 1982, when more than 23 inches fell - the heaviest one-day snowfall in 97 years.
