SunCal Misconceptions
Sunday, February 01, 2009
Good news for the SunCal investors (whoever the hell they are) about the TIDD bill. Marketing and lobbying efforts on SunCal's part have really paid off. It was swept through Senate committee on a 9-1 vote.
"There
is a misconception here ... that allowing the TIDDs to take place is
going to adversely affect the finances of the state of New Mexico,"
said Sen. Phil Griego, D-San Jose, the chairman of the Senate
Corporations and Transportation Committee.(Albuquerque Journal)
The misconceived idea here is that more sprawl will benefit taxpayers. So the first part is right. But whatever.
Bamboozling promotional material has provided adequate cover for the Legislators and the fix is in. So I give up. Giddyup SunCal. Bring it on. I'm looking forward to seeing 12,000 new jobs!
